Excel

Does anyone know of a website where I can learn how to use Microsoft Excel properly?
The powers that be have decided to make me use a computer at work for administration purposes and Excel is used a lot.
I had a bash today but only managed to delete a few things
I much prefer spanners, angle grinders and welding machines

You don`t have to be mental to build a kitcar - but it definitely helps.

Re: Excel

Surely if the 'powers that be' have 'made you use a computer', they should provide suitable and adequate training.

Tools for the job etc ?

This will hopefully give you the basics http://www.nwnet.org.uk/pages/softwa...l_tutorial.pdf

There is also help available from within Excel. Go to Help > Contents and Index

Paul,

XP Pro disk 3 is a tutorial for all the office packages - ask the IT guy for it (hate to say it, but it's not too bad )

Microsoft also have a lot of courses online and available to view and run through. They are free too.

It`s not that they are actually making me use a computer - they did ask me nicely :thumb:
I do most of the maintenance on various machines in one section of a large factory and I keep all my records of spare part numbers, maintenance schedules and plans on paper (the old fashioned way) whereas all the other maintenance crews in the factory use computers.
Although my system has worked virtually perfectly for the last 9 years, a computer "appeared" this week and I have been asked to "convert" to the 21st century.
There is no problem with courses as if I ask I can do all the relevant courses I want. It`s just that I prefer to be at work up to my neck in sh#t than sat in some stuffy classroom all day :thumb:
The only problem I have at the moment is Excel and I only need the basics.

I will save this until the internet is connected - next week I hope.
There better not be any filters installed
