connecting to internet

every time i click my firefox icon to connect the box appears with my username in but the password box remains blank and i have to type it in every time, i cannot seem to select the tick boxes for auto connection,it does this every time
what has altered to not allow me to tick the boxes?

Check to make sure you have your cookies enabled,,, yum yum This will be in your internet settings.

There should be a tick box option to 'remember password' tick that and see if it fixes it?

What operating system are you on? Windows 98 (if running in safe mode etc), will not let you 'save settings' for certain dialgue boxes.

its windows me,both boxes are not able to be ticked,remember password and connect automatically

Do you have administration rights with the account you are logged in with?
Does internet explorer work OK?
Have you tried reinstalli g your ISP software logged in as yourself (so as to give your computer a/c full access rights)?

Try to run anti spyware first. You may have picked something up.

im still trying to get to the bottom of my problems,why is it that when i double click my firefox icon on the desktop it wont connect,it gives the usual cannot find webpage message,i have to double click my tiscali icon first,punch in my username/password to connect and then double click the firefox icon?
weird,i have un installed and re installed my internet package but that doesnt help
