Does anybody know if it's possible to send e-mail via Outlook using an AOL connection. there must be a way to reconfigure it.

Please no wise cracks about AOL, I'm happy with it and I received an e-mail from them yesterday saying they are doubling my connection speed to 2 mb without a price increase, I'm only paying £9.99 :thumb:

Telewest increased mine from 4 to 10Mb without a price increase...........but I am paying substantially more than £9.99

Sorry, have not had that much experience with AOL, just know it's a pig at taking control of your PC, especially mail clients, best of luck, there must be a way:thumb:

Thanks Noel, I don't need any more than I Mb, but from your recent posting I see why you need greater download capability, porn takes up a hell of a lot of resources.

Mike. Have you tried setting Outlook as your default email? (Start. Set Pro Access and Defaults. Custom)

I am pretty sure with AOL at it's default settings, it will not allow you to choose an alternate mail client, it persists with it's own

I seem to remember when I tried this for a friend many years ago, I had to completely disable the AOL client first and then select Outlook as your default client afterwards

Mike. Just sent you mail via Outlook set as default. Let me know if it works. Not to say it will with AOL though
