End of the World....

...For my daughter! she can't get onto MySpace.

I'm on DSL via Pipex and can't access www.myspace.com I can quite happily ping the url, and also ping their IP address 216.178.32.48 - myspace also displays in ie quite happily if I put the IP address in the address bar....Which clearly tells me something - just buggered if I know what though

What's the answer oh wise ones :thumb:

Cheers

Jim

Re: End of the World....

URL in the address bar returns the standard "The page cannot be displayed" default. IP address in the address bar brings the site up. I know it's DNS related...but that's about it.

Re: End of the World....

Looks like your dns cache is corrupt.

Start then run and type into the box ipconfig /flushdns and hit return and that will clear your local DNS.

Re: End of the World....

Rob,

Many thanks, ran that and it still didn't work - same on Study PC and daughters PC. Chewed it over at work and the unanimous deceision was - er dunno, could try deleting the cookies. Cookies deleted...Works now - but makes no sense to me why it should.

Oh well - back to injector flow rates and dual spark tables, at least I get those

Cheers

Jim

Can you have two spark tables for different fuels? ( 98- optimax etc)

Depends on how you run the PCM. In normal mode the engine runs on high octane spark table, but flips to the low octane table in "reduced power mode" when certain conditions are met (eg MAF failure and a few others - in which case it will ONLY use the low octane table), otherwise it interpolates between high and low dependent on knock. If you run one of the custom operating systems you can run MAFless (Speed Density) and scale between high and low octane tables depending on the level of knock you encounter (which is the only real way of the engine "knowing" if its got 91 RON or 102 RON in it).

Cheers

Answer the question, he asked about 98 RON not 91 and 102.
