Mcafee Removal

Hi

Does anyone have an idiots guide to complete removal of McAfee. I tried the uninstall and all we get now is constant messages about missing components etc. So tried to reinstall to stop the constant messages but guess what........yup...missing components.

Cheers
Warren

Apart from editing the registry, you could try searching Mcafees web site for a removal tool, or a general google search for a similar tool.

These things can be a real pain once they have got themselves confused.

Andi.

PS See this How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe)

Thanks guys, I took the cowards way out and reinstalled with a new subscription.....mmmmm.....conspiracy theory. B****rds. I am sure they install something that does react like a virus when you try to install.

Anyway we are now back to normal, at a cost of course. I'm beginning to wonder if computer aren't having the upper hand. It's like Vista, change this, are you sure? Are you really sure, do you want to reconsider, tell you what I will save this as a recovery file in case you change your mind.

Now I remember why I like cars, brake pedal means stop, gas pedal means go.....ranting now, where's the fridge.
