Re: Non Cob help pls.

Pat,

Sorry, your going to have to get a new cable put in from outside.

The cable you'll have at the moment will be bog standard TV coax which isn't up to the job of carrying Sat signals.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Sky+ setup uses a twin LNB at the dish so will need 2 coax's into your Sky+ box. One hole through the wall should be sufficient, and even sky shouldn't get that wrong (famous last words) and include it as part of their install service (although they'll take the easiest route from the dish rather than the best).

Rgds

Jim

Sky+ uses a quad LMB, so you have 2 cables from the dish to the sky box.

How about pulling the skirtingboards and routing cables behind them.Gripfil will stick them back and if you have the sky socket mounted ontop you shouldnt see any cable.I've recently hung a plasma so I know where you're cpming from.

Re: Non Cob help pls.

If the screen is hung on an external wall, why not set the Sky box to one side and drill holes through to 'outside' for not only the incoming cables from the dish, but also for an outgoing coax to the screen.

You could then route this back through the wall behind the screen?

This way there's no cable trailing up the wall, or along the skirting, just a cable clipped to the outside of the wall. (remember to drill the hole angled down from the inside or your house will fill up when it rains!))
