My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

What about springs and dampers?
Dampers would be OK, spring rate may have to change.

I was in the same position as you Simon & decided to stay with a RV8, albeit larger capacity. It seemed like too much bother & in any case, my power:weight ratio is as good as a mildly tuned Chevy (330/ton). To make the change really worth while, it's best to go for higher power output, eg 400+bhp which up's the cost.

Your engine was no slouch at Bruntigthorpe and the turn in was very nice.

i decided to change my mind and use a ford instead of a rover,i made some engine mount convertors and a gearbox mounting plate to bolt to the existing rover mounts, not too bad if your handy with the spanners and can/get someone to do some welding for you
