Hi Andy,

Not familiar with the GD setup but IMO, (can someone else confirm) you have the cable the wrong way round? The AK supplied handbrake cable has a metal barrel attached to the cable which goes to the handbrake end.

Again, can one of the more knowlegable chaps confirm this please.

Regards,
Martyn

Cable does look slightly long but it is the right way round.

My Dax cable looks like your does in picture 3. You just wind the nut back up the thread until it meets the lever. You don't need a nut the other side on this thread as the tension will hold it in place. SOunds like you have tried this though and it's still too long.

Failing that you could do as Richard said and make a spacer tube for the diff end. A small piece of tube with a slot cut down the side would slip over the cable then hold the cable nipple further back from the lever.

Failing that, Get a shorter cable from GD

Craig.

Hi Andy,

Is the new cable any better? Only asking as I'd be interested in one myself.

Cheers

Nope up early! Mrs 302 had to take her parents to T5! Couldn't get back to sleep.

Cheers

Hi Andy,
I had to shorten the cable supplied by GD about 3cm to make it work.
Regards
Terry

Wink

Update.

New cable arrived and worked perfectly, old cable was 30cm too long so was swapped out by Andy.

Another job done. Now for that pesky engine!
