To make sure the body is square to the chassis etc. would it be a good idea to check the relationship of the wheels to the wheel arches in each corner, or are the GD mounting holes and body shape bob on for this?

when you drop the body on, it self centres on the mounts.#

the only ting you can get wrong is to get the body too far back (it wont go too far forward as there are mounts in te engine bay preventing that)

OR

to mount the body too high, and not settled properly on the rubber.

I use a two poster lift with the rear arms under the body, the consequences of the mountings separating is unimaginable.

GD said something about the etching of the rubber not being correct, replaced immediately, and gd "had a chat" with the supplier, which was more of a roasting really

Worried about body fitting

Hi all, just read this thread with interest, i am still planning my build at the mo and have had some worries about body fitting. My garage is only single so space is tight however i thought i could roll my chassis down to GD when finnished and have them fit the body for me then fetch it back to carry on . Any thoughts on this?

Regards Roy

Roy,

How tall is your garage? If you've got the vertical room you could do the body first, lift it up out of the way (minus screen) and then work on the chassis. Something like this...

Thanks for that, it does seem like a popular way the problem. I think i right in saying that Lee T's body was on what looks like quick stage and casters. My real dread is $&^% it up, i think the best thing is to get a quote from Andy for body fitting if thats to expensive then i will have to get busy with the 4x2's.
The other plus to your method is the fact that the body and chassis could be ordered together.

Now i'm rambling, sorry catch you later.
