Steering Rack
It has been suggested to me that the Steering rack may need additional 3mm spacers fitted at the ends to limit the movement. Is this necessary on the Euro?? The Rack must be in a different place to the GDJAG as you have to cut away part of the inner wing for clearance.
A while back I removed the springs from the Shocks and moved the wheels in all directions and the tyres didn't appear to rub anywhere on the shell. Of course this was with the car static which isn't the same as the car being under dynamic loads with everything shaking!! Thanks Denis

More likely a Jag thing, I definatly needed shims on mine...but at Chassis Number 34 (GD Jag) it's a tad earlier than anything recent (and uses a different rack/rack mount than current models).
No help, but at least you know I read your post Jim |

Thanks for the replies... The rack was fitted when I collected the chassis so it would seem reasonable that if shims were necessary they would have been fitted. The rack is out at the moment to paint it properly.
I think I'll leave things as they are for the time being particularly as I couldn't make them rub when moving the wheels around using all the available movement apart from compressing the bump stops in the shocks that is. Thanks again.. Denis

This was mentioned to me as well but after talking to Andy about it it looks like the racks they use now do not need spacers added. Depends on the age of your rack though, best phone GD, its always the best thing to do if you are not sure.
As Andy said to me at Stoneleigh when discussing my Handbrake cable, GD spec everything to fit/work so if it doesn't call them. Cheers
