Question Ford 302 in a GD, front pulley clearance to chassis rail.

Can anyone with a Ford 302 in a GD, tell me if there is enough room to get a bar on the crank damper bolt with the engine in the chassis?

Ive got the March ribbed front pulley if that makes any difference?!? Just need to know if I can leave my rockers loose for a bit longer or if I should bolt then down now before the engine goes in. (going to be a while till it fires up so it helps to keep the moisture out)

Cheers

Hello Andy,

I have a 302 block but I can not understand exactly your question.
What do you mean with: "get a bar on the crank damper bolt"

My work process was:
Fit the engine with the gearbox in the chassis
Put the waterpump to it
Ad the damper to it (no problem with tighting the cranck damper bolt with a wrench)

I have an extended small diameter pulley and it fits just above the chassis.
See the pictures on my website (sorry the lines are in Dutch)
Project GD-427: Motor

I hope this is the info you are looking for

HI,

Thats great, shows me the pulley is above the rail and plenty of room to spin the engine over by hand.

Nice job by the way!

Thanks
