GD fuel tank sender

Hi

I am using ETB gauges and am about to send for the final few to complete the dashboard. One of the dials I need to order is the fuel gauge. I tried to speak to Andy today about calibrating but he is off ill. Can anyone tell me if the ETB fuel gauge will work with the standard GD fuel tank sender, straight out of the box, or does it need and adjustments. I all ready have the tank (GD) but Andy said he wouldn't give me the sender untill I new what gauge I was getting.

Any help on this appreciated

Thanks

Martin

ETB Gauges

Are there no GD owners out there with ETB gauges?

Hi Martin

I used ETB gauges in a previous car build and the guys at ETB told me that the guage would only work with their sender. Something to do with the resistance of the sender and the calibration of the gauge. Can you not just use ETB sender.

I concur, I'm probably going to have a play with some bright LEDs over the winter period (probably/maybe/sometime).

The ETB site has the details of the resistance ranges needed for their guages.

Hi Martin,

I've got ETB gauges. I have a feeling (and it was a long time ago so I can't be sure) but I think I got the sender from GD and then just had a chat with the chaps at ETB and they sorted me out the correct gauge.

Unfortunately my sender packed up after about 3 months and I've been using a cane dip stick for the last four years instead! On the bright side at least my car always says I've got 3/4 of a tank left and I've only ran out once (when I was giving a lift to a mate, on a motorway slip road, with a copper behind me and I lost the filler cap in the rush to refill from my spare petrol can & drive off pdq). In short, it's on my list to fix this winter so I'll be having exactly the same problem you're having right now...
