| jaguar V8 ?? Whilst digesting my Xmas pud I started thinking about the Cobra (asyou do). Anyhow it is currently a 3.5 Rover and it is having i'ts pressy (a stage 3 pair of heads and some new manifolds) fitted shortly. Next upgrade was going to be a 5.3 block. Then I thought about a pal of mine who has just bought a supercharged XJR with rear damage for only £1500. Has anyone put one of these lumps into a cobra ? They make 400 bhp and look very compact. I recon it could be a nice cheap option, ANY THOUGHTS ![]() |

| Re: jaguar V8 ?? Looked at the previous answers and still recon it could be worth it considering i've still got to spend about another £4k to get the rover up to 340bhp! By the way I'm told these cars were so juicy, that as a day to day transport they are not very desirable anymore. And yes I've seen the car my mate has, and i'ts a V8!! Does anyone know who to speak to regarding an aftermarket Ecu? |

| Re: jaguar V8 ?? Olly, If youre looking to change gearbox from auto to manual youre going to need an aftermarket ECU, if you're keeping the jag auto you can use the original ECU. If the original ECU has gone missing best thing is to ask a specialist jag breakers for a ECU package to "spark up" the jag engine combo. Its shouldnt cost more than £150. Where did your mate get the jag from, I've been looking and can't get anywhere near £1500 for a donor vehicle, lucky beggar !! Cheers, Tony
