RE:

Thanks Nigel.

For those going over and thinking of going on the NS, please be aware that as any other circuit, it can be dangerous.

A friend died on the NS on Sunday, which tends to hammer home the risks involved. He crashed after sliding on an oil-spill left by someone else on the circuit.

The 14 mile circuit means that you have to concentrate fully for around 9 to 12 minutes depending on your speed, which is a major drain on anyone. After a lap, take a 30 minute break to recharge yourself.

You will more than likely buy a 6 lap ticket, however do think of it a six laps only, please please please think of it as more than that, if you don't get a good line on a corner, please don't try to make it up on the next corner.

The circuit will more than likely be very busy, so please be aware of other traffic especially motorbikes.

We have the benefit of being in open top cars, so if you want or are letting someone past, use your indicators and wave them through with a handsignal.

I don't mean to sound maudlin, however the NS is dangerous as in any other circuit in the world, so please be aware of your limits, the cars limits and the possible limits of other people as they will probably not know the lines or the overtaking zones.

The fully safety stuff can be found on Bens site http://www.nurburgring.org.uk

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

Hi!

I'll be there for the whole weekend! It's good to know there will be loads of Cobras! If you see an annoying Dutchman wearing Club Cobra merchanise (the ones I designed ) IT'S ME!

I'm taking my MV1 with me so maybe I'll compose a nice video of the event! There aren't many cobra movies so that should be great! I'm currently working on the International Lancia Delta meeting video so some Cobra videofootage should be quite refreshing.

Who can I expect to see there (from this forum)!

Jordy

ps.: Robert, what's the 'status' of the CRC Banner?

I will be there from Friday onwards, you can't miss my car, the numberplate is rob 747g.

I have just finished packing the car and boy is it surprising how much you can fit in the boot.

Robert, I saw your and NBracken's car at field B4, but you guys were nowhere to be found. Had any fun? The weather was really bad, fortunately it didn't spoil all the fun. I had a nice chat with the Superformance dealer. I was also impressed by the Kirkham body (thick ally rocks!!); too bad the european (or just the German) dealership is owned by a bunch of well euhm...let's skip this part .

By the way, where were the other 25 Cobra's from the UK? It would have been fun to drive along with a Cobra. Maybe next year?

I'll compose a video next week; a compilation of the Cobra's outside and on the track (the 4 '289' models). Any interest in a small video for internet?

Greetings!

Jordy

Jordy, sorry you missed us. We had a great time. In teh end we had 31 visiting cars, of which 21 came in Cobras - maybe they were out enjoying the Nordschleife when you called by.

Sorry I missed you, but I did spend far too much time at the NS, and had a wonderful time.

To keep it short: here's a little impression of the Cobra's at the track (with some nice footage of the ally body of Kirkham)
