Ford engined Ram Cobra

Does anyone run a Ford windsor engine in their Ram cobras?

I am wondering that because after looking at a Ram with a Chevy in it, it appears virtually impossible to use a proper Aviaid Cobra road race sump as the Ram has a cross brace going under the engine somewhere midway! I suppose I could either use a rear sump or go dry sumped.

Or cut it out and re-weld it in a place that's not quite so in the way. That's what I did (with appropriate gussets etc).

Re: Ford engined Ram Cobra

Russell_ram,

Are you using a front Ford sump or the original style long road race style sump?

I will have to wait until I place and order hopefully in the near future and then I can suss it out when I get it, the position of the cross brace looks quite important where it ties in with other points but no doubt as you have done there are many ways to skin a cat!

With owning a Ram do you race it and with maybe running one with less ground clearance have you altered any pickup points etc?
