| Re: Forum Rules, time for a reminder Rob, I completely support your comments :thumb: I'm guilty of minor infringements with bad language now and again, its not right and I usually feel bad after reading the post again.

| Re: Forum Rules, time for a reminder Hi, I have to say I agree with Rob's comments. I originally joined this site to help as means of getting assistance with my build, offer my advice (for what it is worth) and communicate with fellow cobra nuts. I didn't join it to read about individual disputes, people trading insults, accusing people of being rip off merchants , etc. If you want a soap opera go watch TV! I don't believe that this forum is an effective means of resolving such disputes. Remember even if the club wanted no rules then that's ok, if somewhat naive, making slanderous comments about people in public forum can still land you in trouble legally. I also didn't join to read a technical thread by someone only to see it degrade into an advertising war, if you want to advertise put it in the classified area. A simple link in the thread pointing to your classified ad would be sufficient. Chris |

| Re: Forum Rules, time for a reminder I fear that one of my earlier threads may have prompted Rob to place this reminder. Although I agree with all that he has said I also feel that the readers of this site have the right to know the good and bad dealings that we, the customer, have had with company's that advertise on this forum. What started out as a question soon changed and that happens, to a large extent, to a lot of the threads on here. :thumb: |

| Re: Forum Rules, time for a reminder Well Robert I wonder how you would deal with Jeepdog or son-of under your new rules. Seem to remember things got pretty hot then. Things always change and evolve and this site is no exception. I hate change. I am a reactionary. Change usually means a thing get less good not better. Not always of course but in the case of this forum it's not as good as it was. In my mind it's just another commercial venture out to make money. It's lost its sparkle. It's now "controlled" and politically correct. And why should we worry about what people write or what images they try to upload. Ever watched the telly recently? Or visited the cinema? Anything goes. I don't agree with that but I wouldn't want to stop anyone doing their thing. Like this site. If the content offends one's sensitivities one could always look elsewhere. Found a comment on the proposed marriage of Charles and Camilla (Yes!) quite amusing. It said the Church of England might take exception to certain things and would not tolerate a church service for the wedding but only sanction a Blessing. And that from an organisation of whom half are poofters! But they have the control. And finally I am disappointed so many members jumped up to say yes when you asked for moderators. Obviously control freaks. You guys ought to get out more. It's only a forum, only the internet, only computers ... I guess only for nerds really. Taking the missus out now for dinner. You lot can stare at your screens and ... er moderate! |

| Re: Forum Rules, time for a reminder I certainly agree with what Robert say's. But we should be able to give our views on service's we have received. If I think I have got great service from a certain company then yes I want to pass that information on, the same way I want others to tell me about pit falls they have come across. Companies rely a lot on word of mouth for their reputations good or bad. Cheers
