Frank - I can see your point. I think what happens is that if someone offers advice based on opinion rather than fact, and that advice is erroneous, other members tend to correct it. That is because we all have our and your safety at heart - personally I would always post a rebuttal to advice given that would compromise the safety of a car. These cars are just too powerful not to do so. As an example, see people's reactions to proposals to use stainless fasterners in safety-critical areas.

The trick, of course, is to do it in such a fashion as to educate the "offender" rather than upset them.

In reality, I view all info out on the 'net as suspect personally, until I can corroborate it myself from other sources. Is why I never use Wikipedia, for example, as a reference source.
