Source for reconditioned Jaguar axles?

If I wanted to put a Cobra together using reconditioned Jaguar axles, is there a company who would supply them all ready to go? would there be much of a price premium?
Thanks
Simon

Re: Source for reconditioned Jaguar axles?

Yes they're only a short distance from me and I have used them before, but was just a bit concerned about supply, as I know some people have posted that they can be very slow.

Re: Source for reconditioned Jaguar axles?

Must admit I recon'd all my own stuff, but still got all the bits from Wards and thought the service was excellent. Obviously different with complete axle/hub assemblies.

Have a go yourself, good fun once you've got all the bits cleaned up! :thumb:

Re: Source for reconditioned Jaguar axles?

Don't even bother with ward's, I ordered a recon front suspension kit some time ago,and got fed up waiting after 3 months! Never did get it, and he never answers emails.
Sorry ward engineering!

Simon do it yourself!

Re: Source for reconditioned Jaguar axles?

Have to admit John it was fun, up to my armpits in sludge and oil for a few weeks.
Like you I got all my parts from Wards after meticulously itemising every part needed, then pricing them up from different suppliers and comparing totals.

The only part I didn't recon myself was the rear hub carriers, because of the effort, and cost of parts involved compared to wards price for recon units (£75 each at that time).

If anyone needs a Wards price list I have one on PDF (acrobat reader) I can e-mail, just PM me

Re: Source for reconditioned Jaguar axles?

Bl--dy Typical Rich,

Three guesses what I was doing when you were posting, yes putting the final touches to my spreadsheet where I compared the cost of all the bits needed to rebuild front and rear suspension, brakes etc between four different suppliers.:thumb:

Wards were significantly cheaper I discovered, then I log in and find out that you could have told me that without me expending any effort on my part.....

Cheers,

Tony
