Tremec speedo sensor

Hi chaps, just a quick one I have one last niggly job to do regarding the mechanical chassis side of my build and thats to connect the speedo sensor. After reading and hearing loads of problems on daisy wheel speedo inaccuracy etc I was wondering is there any way of wiring the speedo straight to the gearbox on a Tremec 3550 box

Any info would be great, my guages are etb and so is the daisy wheel if this helps

Anthony

Re: Tremec speedo sensor

I dont believe it, have I found something beyond the realms of this site members knowledge as there has yet to be a reply to my above question. Looks like id better start making the speedo sensor bracket

I take it that you don't have the current series Tremec box as this box has an electronic speedo sensor in the side of the box. There are adaptor kits I believe for the earlier boxes that fit into the mechanical speedo location but I don't know where to get them from.

Re: Tremec speedo sensor

Autometer sell a Electronic Speedo sensor Model 5291 standard 7/8 - 18 thread that fits the tremec. It is a Hall-Effect Electronic Speedo sender ( square Wave )

It bolts into the nearside and directly replaces the speedo cable.

Its just a question of whether it is compatible with your speedo.
