Hood and Tonneau Cover for a Dax

Hi Gang,

Although I had originally convinced myself that I wasn't going to bother with wet weather kit, the sensible side side of my head (or was it the wife?), says I should get some wet weather protection. After I could get very wet between Le Mans and South Wales.

Question is who's the best supplier of quality wet gear for a Dax, other than Dax of course.
Dax's full kit comes in at around £850 all in.

cheers guys I look forward to your replies.

Kev, MandMd classic car components Page 15 of the last Snake Torque. Mark Dorrinton and his wife Mary, very nice people pleasure to do business with them; just made me up a H/Duty Tonneau cover for me from my brown paper templates. Brillant job reasonably priced. They will suply all your needs re trim fastners carpet etc, reliable people. Makes a change from the normal steam snorting chapies I have met in the kit car world to date!! Eric.

Eric,
Do you have their details as I haven't seen a recent copy of Snake Torque.

RE: Hood and Tonneau Cover for a Dax

Hi Stuart yes mate here goes, MandMD Clasic Car Components & Irion Works, phone / fax 01775 640423. mandmd@supanet.com Linconshire based at all the shows. Mark & Mary Dorrington. Made all my carpet up for me as well, nice reliable people. Had to take the car up to Newark for final fitting of the Tonneau, bit like a suit really. Just leaves me to put in the female lift dots and tenax fastners to suit exsisting hood males in the body. They are also making me up a purpose built bag to hang in my boot so it will take the lot (I hope!?)
Hood, side screens, bows & Tonneau. Best of luck Eric.

Kev,

You could also go to Daxs' trim sub-contractor direct. They won't even need patterns (as they have the official ones) and much cheaper (obviously) than Dax.

They will do whatever you want in the way of colours/piping etc.

Contact is Roy at The Trim shop, 01527 598488. They do lots of classic restoration, kits etc and will make your bits one piece at a time as you can find the money and even fit it for you if you want.

They did all the trim on mine and made a fantastic job in my humble opinion.

Russ
