which colour?

Hi guys

Thought you might be able to help me out with this one!

I'm just about ready to paint but cant make up my mind what colour to go for. I'm not going for blue as there are just too many. I quite fancy black with silver stripes but my other half likes gunmetal grey with white stripes.

What do you think?

The build may come to a complete standstill if I dont decide soon.

So come on you experts help me out!

I vote for the gunmetal/white scheme, it sounds great. Silver on black might and up a bit stark, maybe, the stripes being too 'obvious' and the car looking rather as if it has been chopped in half. Just my 2p!

For grey, take a look at the Graphite grey that they used to use on 1984(ish) Opel Manta, always liked that colour.

Why not compromise!! go for gunmetal grey with black stripes, white stripes are just soooo BBBBOOOORRRRIIIINNNNGGGG

Stripes are boring go for all black or silver, and no side pipes! :thumb:

Gunmetal grey is really nice. If you must have stripes have them grey a shade away from your base colour "very suttle and classy"

Yes would agree with Dave N if you must have stripes get some a couple of shades away so they don't hit you in the face. What no side pipes!!! Recently change to side pipes and its the best move I have made so far .


Have seen a Cobra in a real nasty pink but it was a GD of course and had a nasty wooden dash looked like some thing out of thunder birds with Parker driving! Osgood:angel:

I've seen that one too Eric....Yuk!
All black is hard work, i've just completed two in this colour and polishing is a nightmare. If you must have black then have a black metallic/ mica....Much more forgiving.
I like the sound of the manta grey with either black or even better a slightly darker grey stripe combo. What about the darkish grey mica BMW CSL colour for the base and then a darker grey mica for the stripes.....sublime.:thumb:
