Flux Insurance

What is it with monkeys that work for insurance companies.

The oik on the phone from Flux said I have to have an alarm on my GD before the underwriters would even consider insuring it. he he he, flux have lost another bit of business.

Re: Flux Insurance

I believe A.Flux always insist on a cat approved alarm and want to see the installation cert as well. Give Blackfords a ring they dont mind.

Re: Flux Insurance

I had to have a cat 2 immobiliser and produce the certificate for flux. An alarm was not nesessary.

Re: Flux Insurance

Robert,

I switched to Backford Bloor after they took too long to pass details onto their underwriters and respond to questions. e.g. am I still insured if I park it on the driveway! I even tried their e-mail system, but no one bothered to answer that either.

When cancelling my policy, I suggested that they should change their name to 'Adrian Flux it up' or something like that.

Ian.

Re: Flux Insurance

Robert,

Why don't you try MSM, they were suggested to me by Andy.

Re: Flux Insurance

Flux have never asked me for an alarm, but for agreed value they insist on an immobiliser. I sent them an installers certificate, but from the paperwork Flux sent me I think they would have been happy with a self certification document.
Strikes me they all have good and bad days

Re: Flux Insurance

Does a removable steering wheel not count as an immobiliser?

I reckon it would take me 2 minutes to get most peoples engines running, imobiliser or not. Wire from battery to coil, fuel pump (if electric), bingo engine running, see you later.

However i'd like to see an oik drive off without any steering though. Dont suppose the insurance companies follow a common sense approach though.
