A Couple of Questions

Which Carb Do I Have
Just looking at my carb to try and identify which model I have but can't match any numbers up to the holley site. Anyone able to tell me an easy way of identifying which carb I have?

Rocker Cover Allen Key Bolts
I have the Edelbrock Elite Rocker Covers with the 10 allen key bolts around the edge. I have just noticed that most of them have gone missing .

Is it a common problem that these come loose and fall off?
Will it cause any problems to the running of the car that they are missing?
Where can I get some more quickly?

Re: A Couple of Questions

Hi Brian,
I take it you have found the numbers by or on the air horn of the carb?
If so what are they?

Re: A Couple of Questions

Cheers Andy, If dont sort it before would be good if you could bring the book to Ravenswood.

Stevee8 - I found the following numbers on the Carb
P36
6R8026
3310-8 2972
10569

Is the air horn the round bit that sits just to the side of the carb?

Re: A Couple of Questions

Brian - the so-called "allen bolts" are plastic looky-likes - no mechanical fixing from them at all. They are not even screws, just plastic facsimile bolt-heads. The holes they fit into don't even go all the way through the covers, so you could run the engine with them all missing until fossil fuels were exhausted, and nit would make no difference.

I had a set of these rocker covers once, when the allen bolts started to fall off (and they do, I just cut down some real metal ones of a suitable size and superglued them into place.

Re: A Couple of Questions

Brian just had a quick look in the book and the 3310 number is the identifyer accordng to the book its a List 3310 the most popular carb, its a version of the 4150 model they started with the 3310-1 form going up the numbers,-2 introduced in 1976, so judging by your -8 notation its not that old. Hope this helps with your search on the Holley website but I will still bring the book on the 8th.

Re: A Couple of Questions

The air horn is the bit sticking up into the air cleaner - please see the attached file.
You should find a List Number and date code there. The list number is the factory build spec for that particular model of carb.

Re: A Couple of Questions

Hi Brian,
I have some of the plastic "allen bolts" for the Edelbrock covers in stock.
If you drop me a pm, I should be able to help.
Jim
