Tremec 3650 - URGENT QUICKY

Seem to be asking more than my fair share of questions lately! This is a quicky though.
Is a tremec 3650 (or it could be 3650 3), rated I think for 360lbft, any good with a Chevy 350?

Thankyou yet again!

Re: Tremec 3650 - URGENT QUICKY

Would have thought so as I am running 380ft/lbs on a T5 which is rated at 310 and has done 9000miles without a glitch

Re: Tremec 3650 - URGENT QUICKY

Hi,

I think from past experience that a 3650 does not fit a chevy Smallblock, it was only manufactured for a Ford Engine i think the Ford Mustang GT or similar. The bellhousing is part of the transmission and it would need a custom bellhousing or similar

Although I think I have info on an Aussie company that can supply a custom bellhousing to enable it to be fitted.

Make sure you check things like input shaft sizes for pilot bushings and spline counts for clutch fitment.

Regards
Chris

cheers, there is one currently on Ebay. As the TKO ones have multiple sites for gear lever, I guess I'll wait!

Re: Tremec 3650 - URGENT QUICKY

The Tremec can handle the Chevy easily - see tremec's website for more details on their recommendations. It can easily be mated to a Chevy engine using a bellhousing that Repower supply and that has Ford back end and Chevy front end.

Re: Tremec 3650 - URGENT QUICKY

Hi,

Interesting comment as my understanding is that transmission case/ bellhousing are one part on the t-45 & t-3650.
