Insurance again

Just been sorting out my insurance renewal with Backford Bloor, quoted £427.90 for £23.000 Agreed Valuation and 3000 miles.

The very pleasant young lady on the other end of the phone asked if I was a member of any clubs, I told her I was a member of the CRC and the premium was reduced by 10% to £386.11

Good result. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

So all you out there, that havn't joined, pay your money and enjoy the benefits.

Re: Insurance again

Backford Bloor arranged for an agreed value insurance and then sent a market value certificate (very different) and I'm still waiting (after 2 letters) for them to correct this 'oversight'. Are they normally more efficient than this?

Think you'll find a few people have had admin issues with them - myself included - But the main thing is their reputation for dealing with accident/total loss payments (hopefully you'll never have to find out mind )

Re: Insurance again

After my little mishap in my GT40 last year (for which they paid out 7K on repairs) Backford Bloor hiked my premium up to almost £800!
Adrian Flux were £360 (and yes, I did declare the accident/loss)
Backford Bloor were excellent and dealt with the claim promptly and efficiently, it's just a shame an old fart like me (47) with no points and an otherwise spotlessly clean record, is deemed such a danger on the roads!
I would really have liked to stay with Bloor and would have been prepared to pay a 50% increase, but it went up from just over £300 to £798, just too much, shame really.

Simon
