SR Exhaust headers

I have a set of sidepipes for my SR and now need to make up headers for the ford v8.
I have thought about using the shortie style ones like in the real steel catalogue.
Has anyone used these?
My worry here is that they might foul the steering linkage as fitted on the SR.
Has anyone a picture of this area showing the jag/mgb set up and how it 'avoids their headers.
The shortie style would give the option of sidepipes or going underslung if i have SVA problems. Just then need to bend one pipe to join between them and the sidepipes.
John.

Mav
This is a really complicated area I will photo and send asap.
Andy S has a customisation that graham did to his and it seems to work well.
I'm sure he will read this and help as well.

Re: SR Exhaust headers

John been away for a couple of days and just seen the thread. I will get out tonight or tomorrow with the camera and show you the mod on my SRV8 which might help a bit ref headers and steering arm.

Re: SR Exhaust headers

Right here we go, managed to get down the garage in between showers.

2 photos attached hopefully showing the steering mod which means it doesnt go through the headers.

Re: SR Exhaust headers

Thanks Guys,
Just back from my holibags and got your replies.
I was told by Real Steel that the shortie headers were no good for a cobra.
I dont know if this is because the exit might be toward the back of the engine and I realy need the middle somewhere.
Will be trying out things this week while i'm off.
Thanks again.
John.
