| ABS and traction control/ Safety features Can anyone tell me of an ABS system which can be fitted to a Dax or other replica. I will be fitting the racelogic traction control system but was wondering if anyone has fitted both. 4 channel system preferably. I would also love to know if items such as side impact bars or even air bags have ever been considered seeing as cars seem to costing up to £35k. I know that BMW based python can have it as the donor does but it seems there is much development left there! Please could all the imortals out there not get involved. I really do not want the usual comments from professional or pseudo professional or playstation drivers who are no doubt vastly superior drivers who never have any problems with other drivers/oil on the road/acts of God etc etc....Although I have no doubt this paragraph will make you reply due to something I don't understand. Thankyou for any serious replys or private messages.

| Re: ABS and traction control/ Safety features Cheers, I knew about the bars on a GD but would like to see how they work, from what I can see they would not make contact with any solid part of the chassis so I can't see how they protect driver but I say this having only seen photos.

| Re: ABS and traction control/ Safety features They don't need to contact any part of the chassis. The bars connect to the body, which is fully bonded and reinforced with various elements. I have unfortunately tested the impact absorbing properties of a GD  and can safely say they stand up very well. For a full understanding, you need to go up to GD as Andy can explain in more detail. ATB

| Re: ABS and traction control/ Safety features What you need is a picture of v8robert car at the last GD open day (sorry rob) I think it says it all, Well the man in the car with him placed his order right then. PAT

| Re: ABS and traction control/ Safety features Bitsilly. I think you need to consider that you are/will be in a VERY vulnerable car whatever you do to it for safety reasons. As Rob has said the GD Side Impact Bars combine with the flex of the body to absorb impact, NOT make you immortal. A Full Race cage, Air bags, Etc may help, but NOT A LOT in a hard, side impact situation. Any Donor ABS system is Designed AROUND and FOR a car thats at least TWICE the weight of a Cob! so will not work as well in an aftermarket situation. You just have to be doubley aware of road conditions and other drivers who may not be Maybe not what you wanted to hear, But my 2 penneth

| Re: ABS and traction control/ Safety features It's not that I didn't want to hear it, I just well, OK I guess I didn't want to hear it. Once had a Seight and frequently had iffy moments despite respecting the car, I'm hoping there are some safety features to think about in the early stages for the Cobra rather than try to retro fit. Incidently, I know there are no ABS systems for a Dax specifically but in theory the weight etc should not count although the plumbing is complicated and I do not know how the pump is driven.
