First step on the ladder

After 34 years of motoring, several fairly interesting cars (Jags, Cooper 'S', Ginetta, Scimitar) and countless humdrum-mobiles, I've, at last, got myself a Cobra replica. It might be a bit bottom-of the-shelfish in many respects - it's an early Sumo; not sure - but I think its wonderful and has a fair bit of potential (if thrown both money and time in sufficient quantity).
Lotsa good things: Rebuilt 351 Cleveland; new Edelbrook carb 'n' inlet; new tubular headers; all leather; shiney bits in abundance; top quality clocks; barely used (less than 500 miles when bought in August) and it was an unbelievable bargain.
Lotsa dodgy bits: paint very iffy due to micro-blistering; it's auto (hmmm); it's skittish (suspension is brick-hard); naughty vibration at certain speeds from the prop' area; most of the gauges need sorting/calibrating (they're new); the wheels are bling+!!
Nothing disasterous (I hope) and I love it; warts 'n' all. Don't you (the car that is) get stared at and smiled at? People love them, I know I always have.
I've already attended my first regional meet', organised by Mike Gorman, and met some really nice folk and saw two stunning cars which were inspirational; they were both stunning and one of them was a Sumo so that made me feel better.
