Shinybitz

I have just collected my Pilgrim and would like to say thank you for a great job.
After two years of struggling to keep my side pipes from blowing, coming loose or just plain rattling, I now have a Stainless header tank, nice new side vents and proper exhaust system including manifolds. Had a big smile on my face for the 170 mile trip home to Rochester, Kent from Strelly in Nottingham.

Re: Shinybitz

Hi Roger,
Nice stuff !
Perhaps a tip...

I see that your heatshield is hitting the sidepipe..try to create a gap here because now the heat goes straight in your heatshield so it isn't a heat shield anymore.
The heatshield works through having air flow between them and it reflects heat for more as 90%. if they are in contact ...heat will transfer via contact point...

have fun !
Regards,
Andy

Re: Shinybitz

Nice to hear from you again,:thumb: I agree, you need to have a gap between the heatsheild and the pipe. Iam suprised Roger at shinybitz let it go like that.

Re: Shinybitz

Hi Guy's

Just a comment is that I know the heat shields are nothing to do with Shinybits they belonged to Roger H before he took his car to them. Maybe some minor adjustment is needed. I think it looks a nice job and can't wait to see them in the flesh so to speak. Remember the next meet is on the fourth sunday at noon.
Good to see you back on the road Roger:thumb:

Re: Shinybitz

Do not worry chaps air gap will be sorted this week along hopefully with an appointment with a rolling road (Mr Purple AK) nudge prod!
Thanks for all the comments, will be interested on how you view the rose joint exhaust mounts. I am quite impressed having spent so long piddling around with rubber bushes and mounts.
Catch up at the next meet.
Roger
