does anyone have the direct dial number for the northampton dvla office?, as the central number is driving me mad!!

I think the DVLA now operate a system whereby you can't contact them direct (cos that would be too easy and straightforward. Instead yu have to call the central number (as given by AK Rich), they take a message and contact your DVLA who (later) call you back (usually at the most inconvenient time of the day).

Do I sound P*SS*d off with the system? That's cos I am

Nope.

0300 & 0303 numbers are exclusively for charities and public sector organisations.
They cost the same to call as standard landline numbers (e.g. 01/02 numbers) even from a mobile phone.
