What a day, excellent Customer Service

Well, not long got home, Andy & I have been working on the car all day today, and I left at about 10:30pm, hows that for customer service. Bloody good customer service I think, and this isn't the first time either.

The Edelbrock Multipoint Fuel Injection system is in and working a treat, just got a bit more calibration to do, but the difference is tremendous, acceleration is far more crisp and far cleaner without a hiccup at around 3750 rpm.

Excellent system, although a bit of a pain with all the work you have to do to the distributor.

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

RE: What a day, excellent Customer Service

Robert,

Can you expand a little on the fitting of the Edelbrock kit. You said you had to make several modifications, etc. to get it to work.
As you know, I am looking to buy the same kit and would be grateful if you can point me in the right direction with any tips or handy hints.
What's the latest with the improvements/changes, etc.

Thanks,
Simon.

RE: What a day, excellent Customer Service

The major problem was the distributor. You basically have to rip out the innards from a good distributor and replace it with the sensor supplied in the kit. Not a major problem, just time consuming.

Idle set-up is a bit convoluted, but well worth it.

Mapping is good enough out of the box for a standard engine, but does need fiddling with of you want the best out of it.

Closed loop only operates from 1800 to 4200rpm, so above and below that figure you need to manually map it if the engine is anything off standard.

Is there anything particular you want to know? Alternatively, where are you in the UK as you can always pop over and have a look.
