Can we have a track day at Evlington

Hi Guys, I'm just wondering if it would be possible to organise a track day weekend at Evlington next summer.

Would need to know if enough people are interested?

I'm sure Rob could fill us in on the details required and of course join us!!

Regards Clive:thumb:

Re: Can we have a track day at Evlington

Having participated in this years meeting I would certainly be interested.
But I guess to keep the costs down more people would need to get involved.
Javelin do track days there but maybe not on the whole airfield which we had the luxury of using.

Re: Can we have a track day at Evlington

Clive if we can get the info off Rob I would be more than happy to help organise the event. Maybe if a few of us can get together and get more facilities etc for the day.
.
Much of the issues about the lack of numbers last year was put down to club support, whilst this is true, we failed to also state that it was blowing force 9 gales and felt like the antarctic run.
Some mamby pambies complained and yet a French lady complete with basque and stockings who travelled all the way from Paris raved and thanked everybody - No moaning (at least not in daylight hours)
Maybe we should see if we can interest a mobile rolling road at the event. I can certainly take my A/F ratio equipment and laptop and see if we can change it into a tuning weekend with the dragstrip to compare times.
Anybody and how may interested as hopefully it will not be force majure next year
Mike

Re: Can we have a track day at Elvington

I think you will find it is a bit late now to book it for next year as you need to find a mutually free weekend for both the air Field and the organisers for the track day. As always if you want to do it there should be nothing stopping you sorting it, If you do a short article for the mag and here on the forum I am sure you will get at least 50 people again, I for one would be well up for it.

Any one can sort these events, just let the club know what you are up to and I am sure they will assist where they can. :thumb:

I would definately be up for the 500 mile round trip.

This year was brilliant fun despite the windy conditions and the odd bit of car damage :thumb:

Re: Can we have a track day at Evlington

I would also like to offer my services if required to help out in anyway. I've attended the last 2 Elvington club events. Even Cobraless I have had a great time. Craig's (GD) dancing at the Saturday night band has left a few me with a few scary flash backs though:thumb: :thumb:
