Gearbox for Ford Cologne

I need a Type 9 gearbox to fit to a 2.9 V6 Cologne. How will I recognise one when I see it??

RE: Gearbox for Ford Cologne

I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong (well certain actually) but I think you are going too be unlucky looking for a type 9 for a 2.9 V6. In Sierra 2.9 XR4 gearbox was, I think, a BW T5 and also that 2.9 (1990 on) Scorpio had MT75 Gearbox - both better gearboxes than type 9 anyway. At the same time 2.0 Scorpio swopped to MT75 as well, but don't know how you tell the difference between a 2.0 and 2.9 one (although the input shafts are probably the big difference).

Why not phone a gearbox specialist who will be able to answer you're question straight off.

Russ
