Side pipe mounting ??!

Hi folks & happy 2006!

I'm sitting here with a stinking cold sipping a Caffrey's & thinking about getting the Cob sorted for the New Year. Has anyone got any pictures of the mounting arrangements that they have used for fixing reasonably heavy side pipes - I'm thinking here of any clever bracketry which can take a reasonable amount of weight, but isn't visible when looking at the car from the usual angles.

Cheers & beers!

Pete.

Hi Pete.
The Rubber Mounts are the Heavy Duty ones from Custom Chrome. Quite useful little jobs as they also double up as engine and gearbox mounts

Dont take this wrongly - only trying to be helpful. As a suggestion if you can get hold of some of the softer mounts - they curve around the waste like the ones dax use, they are kinder in resisting the rocking of the engine due to torque off the drive train. Otherwise you are relying too much on the manifold and exhaust to stabilise your engine. Ever wonder why some manifold fail at their weld points.

Just trying to help you avoid possible, not probable issues.

Mike

Re: Side pipe mounting ??!

Pete,
Have a look at this for an idea.

It gives a solid mounting, with some flexibility to allow for engine movement (you will need to register onto the forum to se the pictures, but I promise you, it is well worth it).
You should take the time to read the whole thread (120 pages so far...), it's an absolute goldmine of information for how to properly setup a Cobra. :thumb: :thumb:
Regards
Paul
