Kyoto Agreement

Sorry for swearing, but am I missing something?

Whats going on with it, Reason I ask is that a few people I know are Changing their minds cos of it.
A chap I know is or has sold his Crendon, because he's worried about the kyoto agreement.
Another friend was all for buying a Dodge Charger the car of his dreams, but the same thing came up in his reasons not to go ahead.
Same reason included in someones excuse to sell his Mustang.

I do my fair bit to help out, recycle everything so as not to feel so bad at the pump when I get to that stage.

But I'm a little confused as to what will change so drasticaly that peeps run a mile with the agreement.

Re: Kyoto Agreement

How to rationalise your descision to own a fun car.

The average person drives 12000 miles per annum at (optimistically sp?) 45mpg.

You're going to drive less than 4000 miles at 15mpg, which at the end of the day is the same fuel consumption, and YOU're going to do it with a bloody big grin and bring joy and happyness to everyone you pass.

Bugger the lot of them's what i say.

Noble though their gestures may be the true polluters will probably not play ball.
There was the biggest improvement in green issues during the few days after 9,11 when there were no aircraft in the skies.

Don't sell your Cobra and then get on a plane and fly half way across the world to go on holliday, the airline won't be measuring the cost of getting you there in gallons, they'll be measuring the fuel in tonnes.

Re: Kyoto Agreement

Sold a Crendon because of Kyoto? Get the **** out of here. The guy's a complete ****. And that is putting it as mildly as I can.

Tell him to sell his house too, that causes more CO2 to be emitted than any car!

And slaughter every pig/sheep/cow.

Pour concrete into volcanoes to stop them erupting.

And for gawds sake, when will you all wake up to the giant con trick that the government is putting on you called "global taxing, sorry, warming".

Woohoo! Wilf's exploded!!!!

There's probably some truth in what that David Ike (Purple track suit) bloke was ranting on about. (Saw him on telly again the other day).

That's what i meant Wilf but didn't have the balls to spell it out quite like that.

Spot on, and if HMG really wanted to stop/lower emmissions, wed all be driving around in electric/hybrids, that were governed to 30mph; but that wouldnt raise any tax would it?
'Global warming' is just another stick for the 'politically correct but vocal minority' to beat the rest of us with, and distract us from the reality of how comprehensively the establishment is reaming us.

Oh now look what you've gone and done, sorry....

Or is it because they dont have the guts to admit their wives/girlfriend/boyfriend/dealer is making them do it?
Kyoto has to be the weakest excuse ever!!!!

Re: Kyoto Agreement

Yep I couldnt believe them using it as an excuse thats why I asked. As for pollition, ever been to Cuba?? Honestly, u cant breath from the "cr@p" in the air.
Personaly, I think the earth is warming up as part of its cycle. Just the opposite fron the ice age, but what do I know.
I recycle cos it makes sence and drive cos I love to.

Admitedly money and weather was also mentioned, but they can afford it...

Looks like I'll have to slap some sence into them when i see them!

Re: Kyoto Agreement

While we are on about fuel, have you all signed up for your Pipeline Card, link at the bottom of all my posts.

It had a good report on the National News tonight, sounds like it's going to work, all they need is for you all to sign up.
