Good Rivnut Tool?

I'd like to buy myself a basic rivnut tool, one that does steel not just alloy nutserts, any suggestions where I can get one that do the job on a budget? It doesn't have to last a lifetime.
Or any particular one to avoid?

Re: Good Rivnut Tool?

Are these as good as some people say that they are. I have heard a lot of bad reports about them but is that just because people use them incorrectly? I can see that they would be a nightmare if they start slipping when trying to undo something.

Re: Good Rivnut Tool?

JonnyT...YES they are....I borrowed one from Kev....and as long as they are used correctly in my opinion one of the best tools and most valuable tools on a cobra build.

In basic glassfibre...no probs whatsoever..if the glassfibre has a steel 'stiffener'behind...a little more caution is needed so as not to strip the thread.

cheers..steve

I have one of these. Brilliant tool, lots of size M4 - M8? and will do stainless inserts as well.
