Cobras and an ugly black bird...

Thought I'd share this with you. One of the Gasholes happens to be a U2 pilot and sort of opened up the doors to us recently... Enjoy!

RE: Cobras and an ugly black bird...

The Double Venom Spring Fling (I believe Wilf has shared this before) is a huge get together held in Mid-Ohio to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research--nearly 300 Cobras in attendence last year, and far more are expected this coming June. A Kirkham is going to be raffled off! Here's a shot of the Cobra train coming into a little town named London (!)...

Wilf took a turn in Turk's ERA/427SO during a drive through the Ohio countryside during the Spring Fling--I snapped this shot just before he floored it and soiled himself...

Here's our U2 pilot flying one of our high flying Gashole recon. planes over lovely Baghdad--giving the residents a lovely Gashole salute...

You do realise that you are all driving on the wrong side of the road, is that why the policeman is waving at you all. :7 :7

Ace

They are driving on the "wrong" side of the road because they are French.

Just a thought

RE: Cobras and an ugly black bird...

Kelvin--the wheels falling off is not even the funny part. We were allowed to accompany pilots in Z-28 Camaros on the runway, which follow U2s as they land and radio the pilot about how the plane is doing. You see, he's still "flying" it even after the fusalage wheels touch down because there are no wheels in the wings. Borrowing a page from Rube Goldberg, when the plane slows down sufficiently, techs jump out of a utility vehicle, run like hell, and stuff the wheeled outriggers into connectors on the wingtips before the buzzard tips over. Assolutely amazing!:+
