Form V627/1 - Built-up Vehicle Inspection form

Hi Guys,

I have found this web Forum absolutley indispensable in selecting the kit i am going to build (a Dax Toj), many thanks for a Top Job!

My question is regarding vehical registration, looking at the example forms filled in on the totalkitcar website it appears that the year of manufacture on the V627/1 form should be the year of the donor car NOT the year the kit was put together 'The year of manufacture will be the year the donor was built (e.g. 1985) and NOT the current year'. Though looking at some posts on this site the thinking seems to be that you enter the year of build completion/current year?

Could it be that entering the donor year of manufacture will not only result in an age related plate but also the possibility of getting Tax exemption?

Excuse me if this is a stupidly obvious question!

Best Regards

Jim Green.

P.s. If any one needs any stress analysis/FEA/CAD doing on any chassis
designs i'd be pleased to help (for the fun of it). See my web page www.jgaircraft.com

RE: Form V627/1 - Built-up Vehicle Inspection form

Hi Jim and welcome

The form 627/1 is the build up vehicle inspection report form which you have to put the year of manufacture of the donar parts used, you will require 2 major parts from the donar, a new Dax chassis and invoice to prove it is new, the original vehicle registration document plus the chassis I/D plate to keep the age related plate, there is a leaflet you can get from the DVLA which will advise you on the items required from the donar.

The V55/5 is the Application for a first licence and declaration for registration, this is the form that they ask for the year of manufacture which will be the date that you complete the car.

Hope it makes sense and good luck with the build.

It is written by the DVLA/Government etc, so there is no hope in hell it will make any sense whatsoever. :+ :+ :7 :7

Do you have to have the chassis i/d plate, because i dont have one from my donor, only the v5. Is this going to cause me problems.

Steve.

RE: Form V627/1 - Built-up Vehicle Inspection form

Guys

I have built 3 cars and I have allways kept the chassis plates and shown them to the inspector with the registration document, the more proof you have the better. Don't worry though, the registration document is enough.

Sorry if I got you all going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
