10 X 10 (FT) Photo offer

OK guys, this is a one time offer and NOT to be missed.
How would you like a full photo quality colour print of YOUR car on the wall of your garage/shed/lounge? size (approx 10ft square) for the sum of just £25?
A friend of mine works for a printing company in London.
They have just had installed a brand new (prototype) printer capable of doing one off jobs.
During the next month or so, they will be running test prints before they take on serious contracts.
During this time, my friend the engineer will have free reign to print pretty much whatever he wants to "test" the machine.
Now this machine can accept pictures up to 1GB, so you can imagine your camera phone picture of your car is going to look pretty cr*p.
However if you have (or would like to take) a really spot on picture of your car at FULL resolution with a REALLY good digital camera (I would guess you need several million pixels) Then the end result would look good.
I'm gauging reaction at the moment, but there are a couple of things to bear in mind.
1 you will have to supply the image(s) on CD
2 you will have to pick up IN PERSON from my home (upminster, Essex) as I'm NOT sending a 10ft toilet roll tube through the post.
If anyone is interested and can get the CD to me within the next week or two, please post here.
No payment will be due until the picture is done and can be made upon pick up.
Needless to say, I will not be held responsible should there be a malfunction with the machine and we can't do these.
Simon

Re: 10 X 10 (FT) Photo offer

I would jump at the chance of having a 10 x 10 photo of a cobra, but living near preston I'm just too far away. If you decide to send them by courier let me know.

Cheers Simon, but all I need to do is open the garage door and I can see it in the flesh.

Re: 10 X 10 (FT) Photo offer

Now I'ld love one of these but I think the timescales are tight for getting it finished (should be hopefully about a week and a bit (eh Dave ???))

Won't have a problem with the resolution.

If the offers still there I'ld like to take you up on it when I get the car if that's possible.

Cheers
Craig

Re: 10 X 10 (FT) Photo offer

I'll speak to my friend at the end of the week and find out the best format.
I'll pm everybody who posts at that time.

Re: 10 X 10 (FT) Photo offer

If your camera is capable of taking RAW images, then that will give a better quality than jpg, which uses compression to produce a smaller file size. A windows bitmap (.bmp) file is pretty much that, which is why few people use them anymore.

Personally, I prefer .png as it offers lossless compression

Re: 10 X 10 (FT) Photo offer

Hi simon,

count me in, if it can be a pic other than the cob.

as mike says I can look at that anytime, and I have a lot more pics that I would rather have 10ft (I think Neil O's avtar would be pretty high on any ones list.................No offence Louise!)
