Just checked out this site. It looks good initially, but when you understand that the pistons are just cast (no rings), and the assembly is unbalanced then it is not that good. For a reliable assembly, including forged crank (though the SCAT 9000 cast unit is good for 450+ BHP) it will cost over 1000 USD. Still good price though!

Godd point, but I think you'd have to have any assembly balanced with your own flywheel/balancer/clutch cover anyway (to do a proper job)
What are aluminium pistons like in comparison to forged or cast pistons, better or worse?

Unless you are running NOS and or are running regularly over 6000RPM and or the engine is Blown or turbo'd you won't need forged pistons just some good Hyperutechtic ones will be more than adequate.....Put the extra cash towards some good heads.

And you won't get any better heads than Air Flow Research ones. Boy those suckers flow. I can see the money flowing out of my wallet and straight out of the exhaust as we speak.

Happy new year Dave. How's bumpy?

Dave is right, hypereutectic pistons have higher silicon conten and are about 25% stronger than ordinary cast pistons. Forged are stronger again (an are good insurance against detonation) but, as Dave says, are not usually worth the extra money. On the down side they also need more clearance in the bores because they expand more and this tends to give rise to so called 'piston slap' when the engine is cold.
