Ford Key

When I get my Cobra it will have a ford Key (as used on the good old Sierra's). Does anyone know where I can get a replacement key cut that will just look like a normal metal key rather than one that gives the impression that you drive a rusty old Sierra?

Re: Ford Key

if its the normal tyoe that looks like any other key,any locksmith can cut a new one or if its the later ford style one the best bet would be a key blank from jaguar.

snob!

Though I would say, just go into a errr.. cant remember what they're called.. A locksmith/blacksmith..?

Dont know if you'll get anything other than a ford key though, but maybe a nicer plastic bit on the top?

Re: Ford Key

I thought a key cut from a normal locksmiths would still look like a Ford key - I will check them out though.

Hi Paul, sounds like it might be a Tibbe key if so then I don't think you can get one without the plastic top as it has the microchip in it for the immobiliser. (Usually black top with a small red part). I used to be a locksmith & have looked back through my old catalogues & can't find anything. If it is the older type (like a standard double sided key) then there shouldn't be a problem.
