Jag Hub Rebuild

Hi Chaps,

I have watched the "re-building a Jaguar IRS" DVD which showed the use of a special tool which simulates the wishbone when you are rebuilding the hub carrier lower bearing arrangement. For those of you who rebuilt your own hub carrier lower bearings did you use on of these tools or did you use the actual wishbone?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Martyn

Martyn,

I know nothing about rebuilding the hubs but I did price up the difference between doing myself and getting Wards to do it. Guess who ended doing it and making an absolutely first rate job of it for £20 more than I could have done it for - all setup and ready to bolt on?

No brainer as far as I was concerned.

Re: Jag Hub Rebuild

Did mine according to the Haynes manual which utilises the wishbone on the car. Clearance is checked with feeler gauges between the hub carrier oil seal retainer & the wishbone.
