Rivnut tool advice

Can anyone recommend a good quality rivnut tool, I don't want to waste money on something that will fall apart on me.

Cheers

Howard, have a quick search under rivnut, this has been discussed on quite a few occasions with suplliers and what people thought of the tools they had bought.

We have one you're welcome to try... cost about 55 quid from Grahams Machinery in Chester.

Howard,

If your only doing a couple you can always make your own tool, works perfectly well, just looks "scrappy".

Thanks Stan, I must pop down and check out your car too, I haven't seen it in it's finished glory yet.

Cheers

I like the idea but I don't think I'd have the patience, I'd rather invest in a proper tool and sell it on when I've finished with it.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Hi Kev

Rivnuts can be used in fibreglass, a good example would be the panel behind the drivers seat. I intend to make it removable so I have easy access to the rear brakes and brake pipes etc. They can also be used to fit the headlight surrounds.

If using steel, and it's thick enough, there is no advantage other than the fact that you would need a set of taps.

Cheers
