I like the idea but I don't think I'd have the patience, I'd rather invest in a proper tool and sell it on when I've finished with it. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Rivnuts can be used in fibreglass, a good example would be the panel behind the drivers seat. I intend to make it removable so I have easy access to the rear brakes and brake pipes etc. They can also be used to fit the headlight surrounds. If using steel, and it's thick enough, there is no advantage other than the fact that you would need a set of taps. Cheers
