Cobra Club FAQ

I have installed a script to enable us to share the FAQ and enter text etc.

The faq software is at http://www.cobraclub.com/cgi-bin/foq/fom

You guys can add stuff to it, but don't ask me any technical questions as I don't know how it works yet. I need to read the read mes for the app.

I have added three categories so far SVA, Choosing a Cob, and how to use the FAQ.

I am undecided as yet if this is a good idea, as posts in the forum are much like a FAQ, so maybe we should keep with the forum, let me know what you think.

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

RE: Cobra Club FAQ

After having a cigarette and a coffee, I feel that this would detract from the forum. The SVA and Tech tips section of the forum is already used as a FAQ and has full search options and email notification etc, so I will be deleting the FAQ software later.

RE: Cobra Club FAQ

The purpose of a FAQ is to help us new comers with those questions which are asked time and again especially when there is a definitive answer rather than an opinion

Questions such as:

Clarification on SVA issues
How do I calculate the speed of my car for tyre and speedo requirements
What are the most common SVA failure points on Cobra and how do I avoid them
How can I reduce the noise to meet the noise limit
How do I establish the age of my engine
What will the emission limits be for my engine
etc etc I am sure there are many more!

Clarification on the registration issues
How do I avoid a Q plate
How many components do I need to use for an age related plate

The process of passing the SVA and getting the car correctly registered is constantly in the mind of us builders and straight answers to the regular questions would certainly help

Rather than being using complex internet systems a document contained in one of the forums is probably easier to manage. The FAQ should not detract from the health debate in the forums but summaries the knowledge and experience of those in the know.

Hope this is of use

Steve
