Re: rev counter

can't you tell by the wiring on the back as they have a common style of their own don't they...and perhaps why it won't work...is it a current type with an internal loop ,not the volt trigger type you perhaps need?

Re: rev counter

Hi Dave
Using MSD for Rev counter at 3500 revs needle dies but at idle is ok
MSD supply is 12 volt square wave which can cause dropout on various gauges.Reel Steel can supply conversion module, which when connected to rev counter feed wire, should stop problem. hope this helps Andy PS Reel Steel Tel 01895 440505

Re: rev counter

I had a simillar problem with a Crane electronic ignition unit. Turns out that the electronics changes the rate of the multi spark discharge above a certain revs, funnily enough it was also around 3500 rpm. Speedy cables sorted it for me with a new module inside the rev counter itself.
Not sure if this is relavant but it might help someone.
