Horrible sound from the engine on Saturday (what a lovely day) just managed to get it home...

Bugger Major surgery needed here

It'll definately be cheap... I'm well known for managing to fix anything with a tube of quick steel from halfords!!!

It sounds serious though so as sson as I venture under the bonnet I'll take piccies etc as I may be needing advice

watching this one with interest, i had a ticking noise on my car,
i thought it was a ring, then my attention went to the exhaust (manifold gasket ticking)
turned out to be a dodgy rocker, but i was convinced it was something deeper in the engine.
how loud is the noise?
