| Ford LSx equivalent Here's one for Wilf. Seeing as Chevy updated the iron block, carburettor engines and produced the lighter, more efficient aluminium LSx range, have Ford done anything similar, and has anyone put one in a Cobra?

| Re: Ford LSx equivalent Yup - and the problem with that engine is that Ford went one better than Chevy and gave it OHC - as a result it is too wide for most Cobra replicas. Of course, TonyD might have an alternate view on that!

| Re: Ford LSx equivalent Good to meet you too, Dave. I would have thought an OHC would make the engine too tall - perhaps I need to read up on my Ladybird book of engines...

| Re: Ford LSx equivalent Quote:
Surprisingly, we are in agreement. Ford did go one better with OHC but the engine itself is too wide to fit in Cobra replicas. AK did build one as a special for a customer but it required adaptations to body wings and bonnet mouldings. Theres not too many multicam V8, 4 valves per cylinder engines that can fit, Ford and Mercedes are two that dont, unfortunately, as the Ford engine complete with box at the show looked most useful. I would think that the engine would be very well suited to an Ultima or a GT40 mated to a suitable transaxle, anybody done one? Cheers, Tony
