It's a very sensible question,
basicaly i have no intention of personaly paying the club a £30 deposit or any deposit at all, if they want the club advertised at shows they should supply the banners, boils down to basic economics, we dont mind advertising for the club but they shouldn't expect me to pay for the right to do so. Hallmark cars were more than happy to buy us a banner, makes our stand look nice and raises the profile of their company name, every ones a winner.

The Club does supply the banners FOC you just have to leave a deposit of £30 which you will get back when and if you return the banner. As most of the last lot of banners have either been lost or trashed in 3 years this makes perfect sense, as this is a good incentive for people to actually look after them. IMHO

Can I "butt in" on defence of the CRC here, without committing suicide.
The £30 mentioned above is a deposit only.
The CRC supplied a few banners in the past and now have no idea who has them or where they are. Some have even been damaged beyond repair.
This has been brought to light recently and new flags were supposed to be handed to those regional reps who paid a £30 deposit. The deposit was to help insure that the regions would therefore look after the banners and treat them with a little more respect than in the past.
I have asked several times for club banners in the past and at the last committee meeting it was proposed that the club would buy new banners and ask the regional reps if they wanted any having to pay a deposit.
Banners were bought, but unfortunate circumstances arose and they got burnt in a house fire. They have still not been replaced, but we have been told they are coming.
We have been helped with the loan of flags at all of the shows and large meets over the last two years, however it has become a real hassle and a challenge trying to return them.
I think they are on their way. Maybe a committee member might pick this up as at the AGM they all said they would get registered on the forum.

I take it whoever burnt them lost their deposit.......
