just in the filler primer at the moment, but as we speak its getting its proper primer on!!

Its the guy who Im renting space off to build it, Burnt Orange Customs www.burntorangecustoms.co.uk (not much on there yet, the missues is putting it together as we speak, doing a bit of a trade you see, website for paint job ). They specialise in refurbing VWs mostly but they are moving into other areas such as custom painting and what not.

Ricky :- just a matter of funds and limited time really (add to that I was totally inexperienced), to be fair I think Ive taken about 60 days work, most of that doing body prep!!!

New update,

primer on and smoothed out, its looking pretty good and straight at the moment. painter commented how bad the body actually was (considering its a new body first paint and all...

I thought my Dax body was good until the painter got at it.

It has been in the paint shop now for over 4 weeks and we are nearly ready to apply the filler primer. I should add that the painter has not been on the car full time for 4 weeks!

We found quite a few holes, or air bubles under the gell coat and lots of ripples in the top of the front wings. About 90% of the car has had to be skimmed with filler and flated back. Getting the boot to fit the body took 2 days alone and the left door neaded a days work. Next stage will hopefully take place next week which will be the filler primer. It then needs all sanding back again!

Hope we get a late summer this year.....
