What's that noise?

I was out in the Cobra yesterday when I noticed a rattle/knocking from the back wheel, sounded just like a stone in the centre cap?
Drove it home carefully as there was no way a stone could get in there
Got home and removed the centre cap and one of the wheel nuts fell on the floor!!
When I checked the rest of them I found 3 more loose

Could have easily been a disaster

Re: What's that noise?

That was more than lucky!

Looks like you need to invest in a torque wrench.

Re: What's that noise?

I can't remember how it works but one side of the car , due to the rotation of the wheel and the way the nuts do up; is prone to loosening.

with trailers and caravans it is quite common, hence the jackknifed and overturned caravans all over our roads every bank holiday.

Trailer suppliers sell plastic clips that hold two of the nuts and stop them turning
